Itinerary

DAY 1: CANCUN
We will welcome you upon arrival at Cancún International Airport. A representative will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel in Cancún. Free afternoon to enjoy the beach or Cancún's famous nightlife.
Free dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 2: CANCUN – VALLADOLID (161 KM/2H) VALLADOLID – MÉRIDA (159 KM/2H)
Breakfast at the hotel.
We will begin the day with a guided tour of this colorful city. Its colonial architecture is a testament to its Spanish heritage. The splendor of its colonial riches earned the city the nickname "Sultana of the East."
This city is the perfect place to enjoy some typical dishes of regional Yucatecan cuisine. You will have the opportunity to taste and learn how to prepare "cochinita pibil," the most representative dish of the region.
After the guided tour, you will have the opportunity to visit Chichen Itzá (optional), one of the New Wonders of the World. This archaeological site is undoubtedly the most famous in the Mayan world. The Mayans had a significant knowledge of astrology. They built the most famous pyramid at Chichen Itzá in alignment with the Sun, so on the day of the spring equinox, the God Kukulkan (the feathered serpent) can be observed descending the pyramid's stairs thanks to a play of shadows.
At the end of the day, we'll head to Mérida.
Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 3: MÉRIDA
Breakfast at the hotel.
We will begin the day with a guided tour of Mérida, whose historic center is the second largest in Mexico after Mexico City.
Thanks to its unique geographical location, strong Spanish influence, and isolation from the rest of Mexico, Mérida has developed a specific cultural and political identity. Its unique culture and traditions are clearly evident in the local dress, language, cuisine, and the way festivals and holidays are celebrated.
Mérida's cuisine is also distinct from traditional Mexican cuisine because it has been influenced by the local indigenous culture, as well as Caribbean, Mexican, European, and Middle Eastern flavors.
After this tour, we will set out to discover a Hacienda (optional), an old Mexican residence that demonstrates the city's growth in the 19th century. Enjoy a typical lunch at the Hacienda.
Visiting the Hacienda will give you a true sense of what a fully functioning Henequen Hacienda once was, with the luxurious style and true traditions of that period. You will literally travel back in time, traveling in wooden carts called "Truks" pulled by mules, just like in the original times.
You will have the opportunity to learn about the transformation process of Henequen (the green golden thread of Yucatán); from the plant to the fiber, and from the fiber to the thread and the finished product.
This Hacienda also has a cenote where you can swim. (Bring a swimsuit and towel.) Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 4: MÉRIDA – CAMPECHE (184 KM/3 H)
Breakfast at the hotel.
We will head to Campeche. Upon arrival, we will take a guided tour of the city. Campeche has a rich naval history and Baroque architecture. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999.
After almost a century of incessant attacks on the city by French, Dutch, and English pirates, the Spanish built a significant fortification in 1686.
Over time, Campeche became the main colonial port in Yucatán, thanks to its formidable defense system, one of the best in the Western Hemisphere.
Lunch at a local restaurant.
Free afternoon to enjoy the city's cuisine, cultural activities, and ecotourism offerings.
Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 5: CAMPECHE – CALAKMUL (302 KM/6H)
Breakfast at the hotel. We will head to the Calakmul archaeological zone. This site was only discovered in 1930 and is one of the most recent Mayan sites open to the public. Located in the middle of the largest tropical reserve in the entire country, this reserve is the second lung of the Americas. You'll feel like you're on an Indiana Jones adventure because this site is still so wild! There are around 6,000 buildings, only a few of which have been excavated. This site is still very rarely visited, allowing you to enjoy the tranquility and nature.
The diversity of wildlife and tropical vegetation is astonishing. Calakmul is home to 86 species of mammals (jaguar, puma, ocelot, oncilla, jaguarondi (or otter cat), anteater, spider monkey, howler monkey, tapir, etc.), approximately 282 species of birds, 50 species of reptiles, 400 types of butterflies, and 73 varieties of Oncidium luridium orchids.
Get ready to spot monkeys, birds, and other animals that inhabit this beautiful place!
Packed lunch en route.
Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 6: CALAKMUL – BACALAR – CHETUMAL (235 KM/5H)
Breakfast at the hotel
Route to Bacalar Lagoon, also known as the "Lagoon of Seven Colors." Thanks to the contrasts of the floor and its varying depths, its waters reflect seven shades of blue. This lagoon also has an open-air cenote that reaches a depth of 90 meters.
We will visit the town of Bacalar. There you can find various wooden handicrafts as well as traditional handmade garments: huipiles.
Bacalar also has a fortification that protected it from pirate attacks due to its importance in the trade of goods from Central America. It increased due to its large production of "palo de Tinte," an indelible black dye used as a textile dye by the English.
Fish lunch at a restaurant with access to the lagoon.
You will have the opportunity to take a motorboat ride (optional) to explore the lagoon; it is the best way to discover all the shades of blue that this paradise has to offer.
End of the day, transfer to Chetumal. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 7: CHETUMAL – MAHAHUAL (142 KM/2H)
Breakfast.
Drive to Mahahual. Mahahual reminds many visitors of Playa del Carmen decades ago: a picturesque fishing village welcoming tourists, offering an ideal setting for both adventure and relaxation. What makes this place so charming is the absence of chain hotels, replaced by small hotels and, of course, its idyllic beaches!
We will have lunch at a seaside restaurant, where we can enjoy sun loungers.
Here we find the second largest coral reef in the world after Australia's. Discover the marine life, the thousands of colorful fish, and sea turtles that inhabit these reefs with a snorkeling excursion (optional).
Dinner and overnight stay in the Caribbean Sea.

DAY 8: MAHAHUAL – TULUM – PLAYA DEL CARMEN (290KM/4H)
Breakfast at the hotel.
We will visit the Kaan Luum Lagoon, part of the Sian Kaan Reserve. There are various bird species, as well as a cenote in the middle of the lagoon for snorkeling.
With its calm waters, it is a perfect place to relax. Its soil is composed of a type of clay that is good for exfoliating the skin.
After this activity, we will head to Tulum where we will have a ceviche lunch.
After lunch, you can visit the famous archaeological site of Tulum (optional). This site was built as a defensive port for the Mayan civilization and is the only Mayan site built on the seashore. This place gives you a perfect glimpse into the Riviera Maya; a combination of Mayan culture and paradisiacal beaches!
Route to Playa del Carmen. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 9: PLAYA DEL CARMEN – CANCUN AIRPORT (55 KM / 1 H)
Breakfast at the hotel.
Transfer to the Cancun airport or your all-inclusive hotel (for extensions).
