DAY 1 TUXTLA GUTIÉRREZ - SUMIDERO CANYON - CHIAPA DE CORZO - SAN CRISTÓBALArrival at Ángel Albino Corzo Airport in Tuxtla Gutiérrez. We will then transfer (30-minute drive) to the Grijalva River dock to navigate its waters and admire the majestic and imposing Sumidero Canyon. After the boat tour, we will visit the charming town of Chiapa de Corzo, located 10 minutes away. In the afternoon, we will travel to San Cristóbal de Las Casas, a colonial city founded in 1528, located 40 minutes away. The rest of the afternoon is free. Overnight stay.
DAY 2 SAN CRISTÓBAL - EL CHIFLÓN - MONTEBELLO LAKES - SAN CRISTÓBALBreakfast. Meet in the hotel lobby in San Cristóbal de las Casas at 8:00 AM . Transfer to the El Chiflón Waterfalls (2 hours 40 minutes), an impressive waterfall over 120 meters high, where you can enjoy adventure activities such as zip-lining. We will continue our visit to the multicolored Montebello Lakes (1 hour 15 minutes), where, amidst the lush vegetation, we will admire various lagoons in different shades of blue and green. In the afternoon, return to San Cristóbal de Las Casas, approximately a 3-hour drive. Overnight stay.
DAY 3 SAN CRISTÓBAL - AGUA AZUL - MISOL HA - PALENQUE ARCHAEOLOGICAL ZONE - PALENQUEBreakfast. Meet in the lobby of the hotel in San Cristóbal de las Casas. Departure for the magnificent Agua Azul Waterfalls, where you can swim in its refreshing blue waters or take a walk along the riverside path and admire the countless cascades in this biosphere reserve.Later we will visit the Misol Ha waterfall, approximately 30 meters high, and we will be able to take a walk behind the curtain of water to a cave that is 10 meters deep.Finally , we will head to the Palenque archaeological site, surrounded by lush jungle vegetation, where we will observe the grandeur of the Mayan constructions built under the rule of Pakal-Kin , such as the Temple of the Skull, the Temple of the Inscriptions, as well as high and low reliefs in stucco and carved stone. Overnight stay.
DAY 4 PALENQUE TM STATION - MÉRIDA TEYA TM STATION – MÉRIDABreakfast at the hotel . Meet in the hotel lobby. Afterward, we will go to the Palenque train station where we will board the train that will take us to Mérida, traveling through jungle landscapes and the southeastern region of Mexico on a comfortable and scenic journey.Upon arrival, you will have free time to begin enjoying the Yucatecan capital, famous for its colonial architecture, gastronomy and vibrant atmosphere.12 stops - Journey time approximately 7 hours 12 minutes.This service includes a liability waiver that must be signed by the cardholder. DAY 5 MÉRIDA - CITY TOUR – MÉRIDABreakfast. City tour of the wonderful city of Mérida, where we will see the most emblematic landmarks of this beautiful place. Rest of the afternoon at leisure. Overnight stay.
DAY 6 MERIDA - XCAJUM - CHICHEN ITZÁ - IZAMAL – MERIDABreakfast. Meet in the hotel lobby. Transfer to the famous archaeological site of Chichen Itza, which means "Mouth of the Well of the Water Sorcerers" in the Mayan language. It was the most important city between 900 and 1300 AD. The most famous building is the Temple of Kukulcan, or "El Castillo" (The Castle), which, along with the Temple of the Warriors, the Ball Court, the Astronomical Observatory, and the Nunnery Complex, demonstrates the ceremonial nature of the city.Afterwards, we'll head to the iconic Xcajum, where we'll admire its crystal-clear blue waters surrounded by a wide variety of flora and fauna. Then we'll travel to the marvelous city of Izamal, located in the heart of the Yucatán Peninsula . Also known as the City of Three Cultures, it embodies three distinct historical periods: its pyramids reaching for the sky in the courtyards of its houses, testaments to the grandeur of the Maya; its convent, whose charm stems from the silence of its majestic walls, forever marked by Spanish influence; and its streets, buildings, plazas, houses, and churches, all in a harmonious visual rhythm of a single color: yellow. Return to Mérida. Overnight stay.
DAY 7 MÉRIDA - CELESTÚN – MÉRIDABreakfast. Afterward, we will travel 109 km east to the port of Celestún, a Biosphere Reserve located in a coastal corridor of wetlands with the best conservation in the western part of the peninsula: mangroves, dunes, petenes (islands of vegetation in wetlands), low-lying forest, and grasslands that protect natural evolutionary processes. Here, some of the most exotic species in the Yucatán Peninsula coexist. More than 300 species of birds have been recorded, including forest birds (woodpeckers, hummingbirds, and motmots ) and water birds (frigatebirds, herons, and ducks). The beautiful pink flamingo is a highlight.We'll venture by boat into the mangrove forest trails to discover this unique ecosystem with its delicate balance. Afterwards, we'll return to Mérida. Overnight stay.
DAY 8 MÉRIDA – COUNTRY OF ORIGINBreakfast. The rest of the morning is free to enjoy the various activities available in the center of this wonderful city. Transfer to Mérida airport.
